Outstanding! I've read this last year, since then, I've read it one more time and I don't think I've recovered from it yet.
'The Opportunist' is one of the most unique stories I've ever read, I stayed up all night reading this one and I was a mess after finishing it, it's one of my favorite books ever and I recommend it to everyone, even after all this time I find myself reading another book and this one comes to mind, this ruined a lot of other books for me.
It will defy what you think and you will find yourself rooting for 'Olivia' (even after she does the most unforgivable things), she's one of my favorite 'heroines' ever, all the characters in this book are complex, not perfect, strong, memorable and the writing is amazing.
That said, Tarryn Fisher is one remarkable writer, I will read every single thing she writes. Only a talented writer will make you empathize with a character like 'Leah'.
"There is more to loving someone than just making yourself happy. You have to want him to be happier than you are."
"Life balances itself on a precarious ledge, we can stay safe up high or propel off the ledge."
"It's the last real kiss of my life. I forever cling to that kiss. It was goodbye and I'm sorry and I love you so much."
Please Tarryn, don't destroy our hearts with 'Thief'!
