The Summer Garden - Paullina Simons

First of all, I have to say that I loved the first book. I enjoyed the second book but I felt that there were too many flashbacks and I was surprised with the end because it felt Hollywood-esc and I was not expecting something like that given how authentic the first book felt.

I started reading this third book and some initial developments made me uncomfortable and I understand that the characters are really different because of all they went through but I became frustrated with it and I have to be honest, my frustration led me to read some reviews of 'The Summer Garden' and I read spoilers that reveal some developments that are major deal breakers for me in one review I read that at some point he hits her and, that, I cannot "stomach", that prevents me to enjoy this story and the 'romance' in it so, for this reason, I've decided to DNF 'The Summer Garden' and avoid 700+ pages of melodrama.
