Me Before You - Jojo Moyes
It is our humanity that makes us beautiful There is such humanity in 'Me Before You' by JoJo Moyes and, that, makes it utterly beautiful. I loved everything about this story. There is a feeling of authenticity about it and that's remarkable. Our heroine, Lou is a regular girl who's living a simple, ordinary and conformed life. Lou loses her job and eventually becomes Will caregiver. Will's life was once extraordinary, he enjoyed it and lived it to the fullest but one accident change it forever. Will and Lou are fascinating, there's a sense of familiarity about them and that is something rare. These characters and their story are unforgettable. But this is more than a love story, it goes beyond that, and the way the author portraits Will's situation is honest, realistic, but never melodramatic. This book is about life, death and the right to choose. It's wonderful to watch Lou and Will's relationship evolve and to watch the effect they have on each other. Their love story is one of the most beautiful I've ever read: patient, kind and selfless . “You only get one life. It's actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.” I think this book is special for so many people because of its honesty, because it conveys a powerful message, but most of all because it makes us reflect about our own lives
